JEFFERSON CITY—State senators returned to the Capitol on Thursday, Nov. 10, to caucus and elect new leadership for the upcoming 99th General Assembly. Elected by his peers, Sen. Dan Hegeman, R-Cosby, will join the other leadership members of the Senate Majority Caucus as he was chosen to serve as Caucus Chairman.
“I am honored to have been elected by my fellow Senate Republicans for this important position in leadership, and I look forward to working closely with them to continue improving our great state,” said Sen. Hegeman. “I have worked hard for my constituents during my first two years in the Senate, and I hope to further bring a northwest Missouri perspective to the leadership of the Majority Caucus.”
First elected to the Missouri Senate in November 2014, Sen. Hegeman represents the 12thSenatorial District, which is comprised of 15 counties in northwest Missouri. Prior to the Senate, he served in the Missouri House of Representatives.
