A Brief Note From Mary Hill for State Representative (Sponsored)

Mary Hill for Missouri State Representative

Dear Citizen,

My name is Mary Hill, and I am running to represent the people of the 17th district in the Missouri House of Representatives. I am a resident and raised my children in Liberty for the last 25 years.

I’m running to represent you, and I want you to know a little bit about me. I feel it’s important for the people to be represented by someone who is not too different from them. Someone who has faced challenges. Someone who has had to sacrifice. Someone who made difficult choices.

When I was a young woman, I became pregnant.  My grandmother tried hard to get me to have an abortion but I refused. I had my daughter, Rebecca, in 1985.

We were incredibly poor. So poor, we ended up on welfare and had to live with family at times.

One of those family members was my Aunt Rose. She taught me to be grateful to the taxpayers of the state of Oklahoma for the assistance I received.  I didn’t want to spend my life as a dependent, so I went to school and studied nursing. After, I completed my course work I moved back to Missouri.

As your next representative, I will fight for common sense legislation.

Other priorities include:

  • Resist Expansion of Obamacare in Missouri
  • Grow our economy for working families
  • Force government to live within its budget
  • Make sure funding for schools reach the classroom
  • Further Ethics Reform in Jefferson City

Things can be so much better in Missouri but we need Representatives that are not afraid to vote for what is best FOR THE PEOPLE.

The Founders believed in citizen representation. Political office shouldn’t be a career. It’s my intent to continue my work as a nurse while serving the people. I’m a citizen and your neighbor first. It’s my goal to represent you. We may not always agree, but I’d love to hear from you and hear where you stand on your issues. Please email me at [email protected]

Best Regards,

Mary Hill
