C&C Drums is a clear leader in drum manufacturing in the country. Established in the 1970s, they have created high quality custom drum sets used by bands of all sizes.
Bill Cardwell, the founder of the C&C drums is proud of the excellent work that he and his team have produced. He founded the company originally to only sell drums. However, as Cardwell experimented, he found that he could create higher quality drum sets on his own.
Cardwell explained “It’s not just me, we have a team to make all of this happen.”
That team certainly has accomplished a lot since creating the original store. His team started out as just him and his son. It has expanded to a large arrangement of craftsmen from around the city.
They currently sell to a wide arrange of bands and artists from Ringo Starr to Fall Out Boy. Cardwell told us that it’s interesting to see the different types of bands that use his drums. He has gotten orders from both satanic and religious bands.
There is quite an extensive process to creating the finely tuned instruments. C&C Drums owns one of only four sets of specialized machine drum molds that exist in the entire country. They place the wood in the molds and the machines slowly form them into the diameter that they need for the specific drum size they are building. Once they remove it from the mold, they add the other components of the drum.
They specially craft each drum set in their location in Gladstone. Bands and artists can order unique one-of-a-kind drums. They also have a different line that they ship out to sell at retail stores.
Cardwell and his team are proud of all they have done and are grateful to the owners of their sets.
“There seems to be about 8 of our drums every week on television…It’s a wonderful feeling to know that your drums are on stage and people are listening to them.”
