Husband of Clay County Collector Announces Intent to Run for Kansas City City Council

The Clay County Republican Party meets at the chambers of the Clay County Commission. At the meeting held tonight, Clay County Collector Lydia McEvoy’s husband, Kevin McEvoy, announced his intent to run for 2nd District In-District Kansas City City Council in 2019. The seat is currently occupied by Dan Fowler.

While Kansas City holds non-partisan elections, Democrats have overwhelmingly ran and won the overwhelming majority of the City Council positions. In 2015, conservative and political outsider Heather Hall surprised many in Kansas City when she won the 1st district seat.
