KCMO to Offer Informational Sessions on Solar Energy

The City of Kansas City, Missouri, is offering two more sessions to residents who want to learn more about solar energy and the potential money-saving and environmental benefits that can be gained by converting to solar power.

A1 Solar Source and the City are co-sponsoring these sessions, with one having already been held this month at the KCPD South Patrol Community Room.

The next session will be held on Sept. 21, at the Southeast Community Center, 4201 E. 63rd St. from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. The final session is scheduled for Sept. 28, at the KCPD Shoal Creek Community Room, 6801 NE Pleasant Valley Rd. from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

Photo voltaic (PV) cells convert light energy into electricity at the atomic level. Thanks to improved technology, solar power has become more reliable and cost-effective. Installing a solar photovoltaic system can reduce monthly electricity expenses and some homeowners may even qualify for federal tax credits.
