(JEFFERSON CITY) – On Tuesday Lieutenant Governor Parson cast his first votes as a member of the Missouri Development Finance Board, votes to approve two BUILD projects bringing new jobs to the Central Missouri region.
American Outdoor Brands Corporation, formerly Smith and Wesson, will develop a warehouse and distribution facility in Boone County. “The development of this facility through the state’s BUILD program will mean 328 new jobs and 154 of those jobs will be created over the next three years with an average wage of $46,786,” said Lieutenant Governor Parson. The projected net benefit to the state is estimated to be over $10 million over the next 15 years.
Additionally, the Missouri Development Finance Board gave approval to Aurora Organic Dairy for the development of an 80,000 square foot cold storage warehouse. This project will mean the creation of 145 new jobs with an average wage of $45,811, contributing and additional $8.7 million to the state.
“These jobs were made possible in part by the current economic incentives Missouri offers and the board heard testimony from an American Outdoor Brands representative, part of their decision to locate in Missouri was due to the recent legislative changes making Missouri a Right to Work State,” said Lieutenant Governor Parson.
