Gladstone – If you have been to the Little Gulley Playground lately you’ve probably noticed the equipment needs to be replaced and that the playground, which is centrally located in the Meadowbrook neighborhood, is underutilized.
At the July 11th city council meeting, the council approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with Play and Park Structures, Inc., for $42,000 to replace the playground equipment.
The new equipment should be installed this September and will have four swings, a climbing equipment and two slides. The surface will be engineered wood fiber.
Neighborhood residents are glad to see the city invest in the playground. They say the new equipment will help to make it a more utilized playground, give the community a much needed gathering place, and help make the neighborhood a more family-friendly neighborhood in which to live.
