The Kansas City Star is reporting that Clay County Senator Ryan Silvey will not be chairman of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee. The committee has major influence over the state’s $27 billion dollar budget. According to the report, Silvey is saying it’s because of his votes on Right to Work and paycheck protection.
Senate President Pro Tem Ron Richard is denying this is the reason who is instead placing Sen. Dan Brown of Rolla in the position.
