Northland Teen Fighting Leukemia For 2 Months

Alayna Shelly

We were contacted by a TheNorthlandNews.com telling us about a family in the Northland that needs help.

Alayna Shelley, 13-old-teenager from the Kansas City Northland, was recently diagnosed with Pre B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

Shelley has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for almost 2 months now. As a byproduct of the chemo, she has been fighting infections and experienced multiple hospitalizations.

Friends and family are attempting to raise funds thru a GoFundMe page to help offset the thousands of dollars in medical costs that have been accumulated so far.

According to the GoFundMe page, Shelley officially entered remission last month, but she will have to undergo continual chemotherapy to keep the cancer from reemerging. It’s expected that Shelley will have to go through about two and a half years of treatment and that her medical expenses after insurance will be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
