Parkville, Mo.—February 16, 2017 — For the third time in four months, Park University’s recognition and respect for the contributions military personnel make to the country, as well as the University’s long history of serving those who serve our country, has been commended.
Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs, Military Spouse, Vetrepreneur and STEM Jobs magazines, has announced that Park University earned its “2017 Military Spouse Friendly School” designation, ranking No. 7 in the country in the “private institutions with more than 10,000 students” category. The award recognizes those higher education institutions that actively recruit and support spouses of active duty service members while acknowledging and supporting military spouse students through the unique challenges of military life.
The honor is the third ranking Park has received in recent months. In January, Park was recognized by Victory Media with a “Top 10 Gold Military Friendly School Award,” ranking No. 5 in the private, large schools (more than 10,000 students) category. In November 2016, Park was selected as the No. 4 “Best for Vets” private college/university in the country by Military Times magazine.
Schools were surveyed and ranked based on how their admissions, retention, career counseling and mentoring programs are better for veterans, as well as how schools address concerns of military spouses and families, including flexible learning options and degree continuation to accommodate deployments and relocation.
