Staley High School senior Joe Hoyt has officially signed to play soccer with Briar Cliff University, and was recently recognized in Jefferson City for his work to oppose underage drinking and substance use in the Northland.
Hoyt will be going Briar Cliff University in Sioux City, IA. He was the starting right back for Staley’s Varsity team and is the starting right back for his club team, KC Milan Premier Academy. Hoyt currently has a 4.0 at Staley High School. and plans to major in Environmental Science. He is also involved in Youth With Vision, Art Club, FFA, Staley Tennis and NHS.
Briar Cliff University is a private, Franciscan, Roman Catholic, liberal arts university located in Sioux City, Iowa. The school was originally established in 1930 and has a current enrollment of about 1,100 students.
Hoyt was recently given an Outstanding Youth Award in Jefferson City. The award was given to students who have made a commitment and significant contribution to prevent underage drinking and substance use in their communities. He was recognized by ACT Missouri, the Missouri House and Senate. He received official recognition from State Senator Ryan Silvey and State Representative Ken Wilson.
