Two bridges on the northwest corner of the Downtown Loop are closed to through traffic as workers begin a $900,000 repair project to extend the life of both structures.
The bridges, located along Woodswether Road near the Historic West Bottoms, cross over the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation railroads. The repairs will correct structural problems the City discovered during regular bridge inspections.
The Woodswether bridges will remain closed for up to six months. Detours are already posted.
